Description

Lume Consulting Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior PowerBuilder Developer to support a California State government client on the maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of enterprise applications. This role is ideal for a senior consultant with strong legacy application modernization expertise and hands-on experience with Appeon PowerBuilder 2022 and Oracle 11g environments.

Position Overview

The selected consultant will support the our California State Client's Information Technology Division by maintaining and enhancing existing PowerBuilder applications, troubleshooting production issues, modernizing legacy code, and supporting application compatibility with modern infrastructure environments including Windows 11 and Azure Virtual Desktop.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support enterprise PowerBuilder applications
  • Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot existing application modules
  • Upgrade and modernize legacy PowerBuilder code to Appeon PowerBuilder 2022
  • Support compatibility and integration with:
    • Windows 11
    • Office 365
    • Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Develop and execute test plans and regression testing
  • Analyze and resolve functional and operational issues
  • Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs
  • Document application functionality and technical processes
  • Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders
  • Support change management and release activities
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing Windows-based applications using PowerBuilder 12.5 or higher
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Oracle 11g relational databases
  • Minimum 3 years of experience upgrading and modernizing legacy PowerBuilder applications
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Appeon PowerBuilder 2022
    • Windows 11 integration
    • Office 365 compatibility
    • Azure Virtual Desktop environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Experience performing regression testing and production support
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    • Campaign and Lobbying systems
    • Domestic Partner Registry systems
  • Experience with:
    • SQL Server
